What is Cyber Security? 

Cybersecurity is the practice of securing networks, systems and the other digital infrastructure from malicious attacks. The practice is employed by individuals and enterprises to guard against unauthorized access to data centers and other computerized systems.

Why is cybersecurity important?

With an increase number of users, devices and programs within the modern enterprise, i.e.; combined with increased of knowledge which is sensitive or confidential, and the importance of cybersecurity continues to grow. The growing volume of cyber attackers and  techniques compound the matter even further.

What are the different types of cybersecurity threats?

The process of maintaining new technologies, and threat intelligence may be a challenging task. It is necessary to guard information and other assets from cyberthreats. The different types of cyber security threats include:

Malware: It is a form of malicious software in which any file or program can be used to harm a computer user. This includes worms, viruses, and spyware.

Ransomware: It is a type of attack. This involves an attacker locking the victim’s computing system files i.e.; through encryption and demanding a payment to decrypt and unlock them.

Social engineering: It is a type of attack on human interaction to trick users into breaking security procedures to gain sensitive information i.e.; protected.

Phishing: It is a form of fraudulent email or text messages that resemble from known sources. The random attacks, i.e.; steal sensitive data, like Mastercard or login information.

Spear phishing: It is a type of attack that has an intended target user, organization or business.

  • The main advantage that would be achieved with the use of effective cyber-security mechanisms i.e.; protect of networks from various false nodes which attempt to gain unauthorized access to the network.

  • It eliminates risk of computers i.e.; being hacked, thus mitigating the risk of system freezes and crashes
  • It enhances overall security mechanisms of the business with utilization of an improved information framework and leads to smooth business management activities.
  • It identifies the vulnerabilities and weak entities which will aid an attacker to attack the system or the server. This can help teams to secure systems in order to prevent such attacks from happening.
