Description
Abstract:
This paper addresses problems faced by many institutions such as colleges, schools, or any other establishments with a wide campus. Here to track a particular person to see them for various official matters a person needs to contact them on their phones but a person who is not close with a concerned person may not have contact information. This can be solved by introducing a system to track the person using localization. Here each person will carry a tracker with them, this tracker is an RF transmitter that will be sending signals continuously. Every different part of campus will be embedded with RF receivers, if the person comes in a range of a particular receiver the controller will receive this information and send it to the central node where there is a notice board that will display the location information of each person. Through the MQTT protocol, all the nodes will be connected to the central node.
Existing system:
- No tracking system
- Not possible to localizeÂ
- Need to contact on personal numberÂ
Disadvantages
- not generally helpful
- not possible to locate the person
Proposed system
- RF-based trackerÂ
- Campus divided into different zonesÂ
- Each zone with the receiver
- Uses Arduino platform for developmentÂ
Advantages
- can track a person very easilyÂ
- possible to see the location on a common displayÂ
- no need to have a personal contractÂ
- uses open source contents
- very cost-effectiveÂ
