ABSTRACT:

In India, almost all the people are using Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as a fuel for cooking. But in this field, the steps taken for safety purpose is very less. LPG is a flammable gas, it has the potential to cause fire accidents heavily. In order to avoid fire accidents, many researchers are applied their effort to design new prototype models. IoT-based gas leakage detection and monitor systems use different sensors and gas knobs to avoid fire accidents in the kitchen. It will acquire input from the sensor and control the gas knob automatically either from High ignition to Medium or from Medium to Low. Gas leakage and the presents of moisture will enable the DC motor to rotate the gas stove knob automatically to stop the gas flow in the gas stove. If a gas leakage is detected then it will be intimated to the end-user by using the pushing box option in the cloud environment. The proposed model also enables the user to analyze the usage of gas throughout the year.

INTRODUCTION:
The main aim Internet of things is to make life easier by automating every task around us. The IoT plays a major role in automating works in Electronic Media. Some of the add-on benefits are enhancing the existing safety standards. LPG cylinder used as a Fuel in Cooking purpose in-home and several areas. Safety has been an important thing in designing homes, buildings, cities, and Industries. The Usage of the Gas cylinder is rapidly increasing but at the same time it is extremely dangerous, it has the ability to cause fire accidents. Although steps are taken for this issue even though accidents are gradually increased due to the leakage of gas. This Work is one step toward avoiding fire accidents due to Leakage of gas. The Efficient and Fast Working Microcontroller is needed for monitoring and control purposes. Raspberry Pi3 is used for this work which fast working controller in recent years also it has inbuilt RAM, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth facilities. LPG gas sensor is placed near the cylinder is used for Monitoring Gas leakage, if Leakage is presented means it will give indications to the controller. Load Cell is used for monitoring the level of gas Present inside the cylinder. The flame sensor is used to detect flame in the kitchen. All these Sensor data are frequently updated in the cloud by using a Wi-Fi module which inbuilt in the controller for user interfaces. This system will help you to update your safety methods; it is essentially needed for environmental commitments and being preventing natural disasters to protect our life.

EXISTING SYSTEM:

  • Gas leakage monitoring 
  • The system detects the level of gas in the air by checking whether it exceeds the safe
  • It sends an SMS to the consumer using a GSM modem and activates the audio-visual alarm which includes an LED and a buzzer to alert the user at home.
  • This system alerts only the resident.
  • Chances are there for Fire Accidents to occur if the resident is intimated late due to certain reasons.
  • And moreover, if the resident is not present in the house at that particular time then there is no use in giving an alert. 

DISADVANTAGES :

  • The existing system detects and communicates the faults to the user. 
  • Either they have used an exhaust fan or a knob to close the cylinder. 
  • In both cases, either the released gas is expelled out or further release of the gas is stopped. 
  • It is essential to include preventive measures to handle both cases.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:

  • We shall use a new technology IoT (Internet of Things) to get the fastest notification of gas leakage.
  • We will also use a website or application under the IoT technology to get the fastest response from the module.
  • The system can sense if there is any gas leakage and an alert will be sent to the user 
  • Users can turn off the valve from anywhere in using/her smartphone 
  • Also, the flame sensor can be used for detecting flame on a burner, and after some time there is no vessel on the burner gas will turn off immediately

ADVANTAGES:

  • Accuracy of output is increased
  • Using IoT in this system is the main advantage in this system So that we can operate this system when we are not in the kitchen
  • Cost-effective system
  • The safety level of users increased

BLOCK DIAGRAM EXPLANATION:

  • The MQ-2 gas sensor, Load cell, and flame sensor that is mentioned above in the block diagram act as an input device
  • While DC motor, Buzzer, and Wi-Fi module act as an output device
  • They give live readings to the Raspberry Pi which acts as the heart of this system
  • Raspberry Pi receives the input from sensors and activates actuators according to purposes.
  • Raspberry Pi sends output to the cloud through a Wi-Fi module
